The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is seeking an outstanding Head of Polar Estates to become a part of our Polar Operations Senior Management Team. In your role with the Polar Operations Senior Management Team, you will aid the delivery of world-class science and operations at our Antarctic research stations. This position provides a chance to contribute to engineering, safety, and environmental best practices in safety-critical operations in some of Earth’s most challenging environments, testing the limits of human and equipment performance. Current initiatives include the Antarctic Infrastructure Modernisation Programme.

We are looking for someone for the Head of Polar Estates role who possesses:
– An HNC/HND in a construction/engineering industry qualification or equivalent experience
– Demonstrable practical experience in managing large infrastructure projects or similar endeavors
– Extensive knowledge of Polar Infrastructure
– The ability to swiftly adapt to change and motivate others through the change process
