The LSE is dedicated to fostering a diverse, equitable, and genuinely inclusive academic community. We offer a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. The salary ranges from £52,806 to £60,705 per annum, with the potential for progression to £67,357, inclusive of London allowance.

The International Growth Centre (IGC) collaborates with policymakers in developing countries to advance inclusive and sustainable growth through pioneering research. As a global research entity, the IGC connects a network of world-renowned researchers and in-country teams across Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. Situated within LSE and partnered with the University of Oxford, we are primarily funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, with additional support from international funders. Our mission is to enhance the productivity of individuals and businesses as a fundamental driver of sustainable economic development.

Based centrally at LSE, this role involves significant collaboration with IGC and assumes comprehensive responsibility for monitoring and compliance management pertaining to IGC’s international operations and associated LSE overseas branch entities. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with IGC senior management, in-country teams, central LSE units, and oversee external consultants guiding LSE on international compliance issues. The role includes leadership over risk and security aspects of the IGC, focusing on overseas engagements. The position reports to the Head of LSE Legal at the LSE Secretary Division, with a matrix reporting link to the IGC Finance Director.

**Candidate Requirements:**
– Understanding of UK corporate compliance, governance, and regulation, with experience in applying these within relevant international jurisdictions.
– Knowledge and expertise in the registration and ongoing legal maintenance of overseas entities.
– Experience adhering to internal and external compliance and governance standards, along with a proven ability to apply these to operations in international contexts within complex, matrixed organizations.
– Previous experience in a compliance-related position within an international non-profit.
– Basic familiarity with corporate financial documents, including company reports and financial accounts.
– Competence in managing a virtual team to achieve timely deliverables.

The post is based at the IGC headquarters in central London, with a fixed-term contract for 12 months covering maternity leave.
