Job Overview:
Are you passionate about driving change and making a significant difference through philanthropy? Cambridge University is seeking an adept major gifts fundraiser to become a vital part of its Development and Alumni Relations team. This position focuses on generating impactful philanthropic support for key University initiatives, specifically targeting contributors across Europe. As a crucial player reporting to the Director of International and Regional Programmes, you’ll have the opportunity to work on securing transformational gifts that will drive the University’s mission forward.
Role Description:
In this role, you will leverage your expertise as a seasoned fundraiser to attract and secure substantial contributions. Your approach will be strategic, collaborative, and innovative, engaging with high-net-worth individuals, academic leaders, and other influential stakeholders within and beyond Cambridge. You will develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, foster relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations, and collaborate with University leaders to secure life-changing philanthropic gifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute a strategic fundraising plan.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential high-value donors and partners.
- Lead engagement efforts to secure transformational gifts.
- Work closely with senior leaders and academic stakeholders to align on fundraising goals and strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in securing major philanthropic gifts.
- Exceptional ability to build and sustain relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
- Strategic and innovative mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and motivate a team.
- Willingness to travel and flexibility in working hours.
- Proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
