Global Opportunities Coordinator: Summer and Short Programmes
Maternity Cover – 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Starting Salary Grade 5 £25,742 (with incremental progression)
Agile Working (combination of home and office-based)
About the Opportunity
This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Global Opportunities Team at Keele University. The team is responsible for overseeing all student and staff mobility initiatives, including student exchange programs, study abroad programs, and summer and short programmes.
The main responsibility of this role is to support the planning and execution of the university’s summer and short programmes for visiting international students. The role involves coordinating the operations and activities of both online and in-person summer schools across the university. Working closely with the Global Opportunities Officer, the successful candidate will ensure the smooth delivery of summer and short programmes through effective collaboration with academic and administrative colleagues.
The role requires the ability to manage multiple summer school programs with overlapping schedules and deadlines, proactively addressing any potential issues that may arise. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves handling sensitive student information, coordinating travel arrangements and social events, and overseeing small groups of student workers. This is a diverse role that requires the ability to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances.
Flexibility is essential, as the role may require working unconventional hours during key periods, including weekends and evenings, particularly during the delivery window for summer schools between June and September. Taking extensive holidays during this period is unlikely to be possible.
Experience working in a higher education environment and building relationships is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate initiative in supporting the design and development of new and innovative summer and short programmes for Keele. Previous knowledge of mobility programmes and an interest in international activities and mobility would be advantageous but not essential.
