The People Services team has undergone significant transformation, and we are offering several new roles to further our ambitious Empowering University strategy. By joining our dynamic and enthusiastic team, you will become part of our new directorate, playing a crucial role in implementing the ‘Empowering People’ aspect of our university strategy. Our focus is on enhancing the employee experience in leadership and management, reward and recognition, voice and experience, and health and wellbeing, while ensuring our policies and systems support digital solutions, quick decision-making, equitable access, and autonomy.
**Role**
As a Global Mobility Advisor at De Montfort University, you’ll be at the forefront of our People Services’ international and overseas working efforts. Reporting to the Head of People Services Operations, you’ll offer vital guidance and expertise on the intricate details of global mobility, including international tax, social security, and host-country regulatory compliance. This position is essential to our Transnational Education (TNE) strategy, ensuring DMU’s growing global footprint is backed by safe, compliant, and effective employment practices. You’ll collaborate closely with the University’s International team and new overseas partnerships, coordinating responses to international employment requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
– Evaluate overseas work requests for tax and compliance issues, provide risk assessments, and obtain specialized legal support for complex cases.
– Develop networks within the university to ensure adherence to international compliance, awareness of global working policies, and employee preparedness.
– Collaborate with People Partners, the Senior Reward Specialist, Payroll, and Finance to maintain a competitive and compliant international pay structure.
– Lead the creation and implementation of policies, guidelines, and reporting tools for global compliance.
– Drive continuous improvement initiatives within People Services and mentor junior colleagues to enhance their skill sets.
**Ideal Candidate**
You possess expertise in global mobility and international compliance, with a solid background in employment regulations. You have a keen attention to detail, strategic thinking abilities, and can effectively communicate complex compliance requirements. You are proactive and excel at building collaborative relationships across teams while upholding high compliance and employee support standards.
