Global Experiences Coordinator – Global Experiences Office
University of Nebraska–Lincoln
The Global Experiences Office, previously known as the Education Abroad Office, is part of the Global Affairs unit within Academic Affairs. It is broadening its scope to encompass diverse global experiential learning opportunities both domestically and internationally. The Coordinator will offer comprehensive support by assisting students in selecting and preparing for global learning experiences, acting as a resource for students, parents, and the university community regarding program details, policies, and procedures. Key responsibilities include promoting opportunities, guiding students through program and scholarship applications, and collaborating with partners to develop and implement programs. The role is team-oriented and reports to the Director of the Global Experiences Office while also liaising or embedding with one or more academic colleges.
**Minimum Required Qualifications**
– Bachelor’s degree with one year of professional experience in fields such as international education, student affairs, multicultural affairs, or academic advising. A Master’s degree may substitute for the required experience.
– Strong listening and mentoring abilities.
– Essential organizational and planning skills.
– Experience in studying, living, working, or volunteering abroad, alongside substantial international travel experience, is advantageous.
– Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
**Preferred Qualifications**
– Master’s degree preferred.
– Experience with Education Abroad Programs, international exchange, and global engagement opportunities.
– Skills in marketing, event planning, and/or public speaking.
– Familiarity with Terra Dotta software or demonstrated ability to learn complex software and develop innovative technological solutions.
– Understanding of Ed Abroad Programs and international exchange initiatives.
– Ability to market programs, plan events, and engage in public speaking. Proficiency in another language besides English is advantageous.
– Experience with data management and reporting.
– Experience handling confidential information.
– Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with demonstrated support for diverse student groups.
