University of East Anglia
Position Overview: Become a Global Engagement Manager (Programmes) at UEA
Are you passionate about fostering global connections and enhancing educational experiences for international students? The University of East Anglia (UEA) is excited to announce an opening for a Global Engagement Manager (Programmes) within the Admissions, Recruitment, and Marketing Division (ARM). This full-time position, with a starting salary of £38,784 per annum (increasing incrementally to £46,049 per annum), offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on UEA’s short-term international study programmes, including summer schools.
What the Role Entails:
As the Global Engagement Manager (Programmes), you’ll play a vital role in designing, delivering, and managing UEA’s income-generating, short-term academic programmes. These programmes welcome students from UEA’s global university partners to experience UK education firsthand, with stays ranging from just one day to several weeks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Programme Leadership: Leading the operational delivery of high-quality summer schools and similar programmes to foster sustainable global partnerships.
- Management Oversight: Coordinating a small team to support and address the academic, social, and logistical needs of international short-stay students.
- Collaborative Relationships: Building strong connections across departments at UEA and with global partner universities.
- Process Optimisation: Organising comprehensive pre-departure and arrival processes for both students and visiting staff to ensure a seamless experience.
You will take a hands-on approach in liaising with partners, negotiating programme terms, and ensuring excellent service delivery. As part of UEA’s Global Engagement Team, your work will directly contribute to supporting international students and strengthening global academic relationships.
Please note that the post involves a heavier workload during the summer months when programmes are in full operation, so annual leave may be limited during this period.
What We’re Looking For:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A genuine passion for working with and supporting international students during their UK academic experience.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills to juggle multiple projects effectively.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities with a track record of successfully fostering partnerships and motivating small teams.
- A collaborative mindset to coordinate with colleagues across UEA and partner institutions worldwide.
