**Role Overview**

**Purpose of the Position:**
Bournemouth University (BU) is striving to gain global recognition as a premier institution, fostering inspirational learning, advancing knowledge, and enhancing society through the synergy of education, research, and practice. This role will be pivotal in managing the operational activities, governance, and project management of a significant, externally funded student mobility initiative, thereby bolstering BU’s internationalization initiatives.

**Reporting Structure:**
The position reports to the Senior Global Engagement Mobility Manager and focuses primarily on supporting the implementation and execution of the externally funded project. Responsibilities include grant management, activity coordination, and ensuring regular project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Additionally, the incumbent will research and analyze to generate horizon-scanning reports for the international mobility portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Operational and Business Support:**
– Ensure the international student mobility project complies with strategic and operational objectives.
– Shape the operationalization of grant funding, aligning with internal insights and best practices from external sources.
– Support the strategic development and efficient project management within the operations of the Global Engagement Hub.
– Foster and maintain effective relationships with senior managers, academics, external partners, and stakeholders to tackle complex business needs.
– Aid in the development of international partnerships, liaising with potential partners and stakeholders.

**Project Coordination:**
– Lead and manage University-wide projects associated with the mobility grant.
– Develop work packages and plans, including budget estimation, milestone setting, and deliverable definition.
– Oversee the execution of work packages, managing both personal and team activities.
– Produce project documentation adhering to BU’s standards and procedures.
– Follow governance processes and project management standards for the Global Engagement Hub.

**Event Management:**
– Lead and oversee key events related to the Global Engagement Hub, ensuring successful execution in line with strategic objectives.

**Research and Analysis:**
– Support in preparing documentation such as papers, presentations, and speeches for meetings, conducting horizon-scanning and compiling business intelligence.

**Additional Duties:**
– Work with senior staff to support the Senior Global Engagement Mobility Manager, Head of International Partnerships, and the Global Engagement Hub.
– Provide updates on risks and issues, ensuring proper escalation.
– Stay informed about new technologies that could improve business processes.
– Perform any other duties relevant to the role’s scope and grade.

**Additional Information:**
This is a fixed-term position for 10.5 months. Please be aware that this role does not qualify for sponsorship under the UK Visa and Immigration Service’s Skilled Worker Route Points-Based System. More details are available on the UK government website.

**About the Department:**
The Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) serves as the central hub for academic and administrative leadership at BU, steering strategic planning and implementing the University’s vision. The OVC works closely with the University Executive Team (UET) and the University Leadership Team (ULT) to oversee corporate operations and ensure the University’s seamless functioning.
