American International University (AIU) seeks dynamic and engaged full-time faculty members for its newly-established Schools of Architecture and Design, Business, and Engineering and Computing. We require individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students, building successful learning environments, collaborating with faculty, and mentoring students.

AIU invites applications for a full-time English Faculty position. The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who utilizes professional trends and technologies to deliver relevant classroom experiences. The successful candidate should be a current and active leader in their field. This individual should also possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Additionally, the position requires research and university service expectations, in addition to teaching responsibilities.

Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching related to their specific expertise within the General Education curriculum and be able to work within a small program focused on personalized attention. We also expect leadership in undergraduate programs, curriculum development, mentoring, and start-ups. We welcome candidates who can contribute to diversifying our curriculum and our faculty regarding race, gender, and ethnicity.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in English or a related field
• Effective communication skills in English
• University teaching experience
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship
• Interest and experience working effectively with diverse university communities
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from various disciplines

Experience:

• University Teaching: 5 years (Preferred)
