OVERVIEW The Assistant Director Global Travel & Risk plays a central role in shaping how the University of North Texas System approaches international travel safety and risk management. This position focuses on supporting students, faculty, and staff by strengthening systems that enable safe global engagement. The role combines strategic planning, coordination, and ongoing development of practices that support international activity across the institution. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Lead the development and execution of the University of North Texas System’s international travel safety and risk management strategy – Serve as a strategic partner to students, faculty, and staff by providing resources and frameworks for safe global engagement – Manage international travel safety programs for UNT-sponsored travel – Monitor global risks that may affect international travel – Develop policies related to international travel safety and risk – Coordinate preparedness and incident response for UNT-sponsored international travel REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International activity is essential to modern higher education, and institutions depend on strong systems to support safe and responsible travel.
