OVERVIEW The Student Advisor role at Fairfield University supports both study abroad programs and international student services within a global education context. Working under the supervision of the Associate Vice Provost for Global Strategy, this position plays a central role in advising students, supporting mobility programs, and assisting with international admissions and compliance processes. The role combines student-facing advising with administrative, data, and outreach responsibilities tied to global engagement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advise students on approved study abroad programs – Provide support for study abroad programs – Support international student admissions processes – Support visa processes for international students – Maintain visa records – Represent the university at study abroad fairs – Represent the university at NAFSA events – Support global education databases – Support communications related to global education REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS This role is essential to ensuring that students can safely, compliantly, and confidently engage in international education opportunities. By supporting both outbound study abroad and inbound international student services, the Student Advisor helps advance institutional global strategy and student success. The position also contributes to regulatory compliance and institutional visibility within the international education field.
