Durham University

The Faculty International Recruitment Manager will provide support to the Faculty of Science and the International Office in implementing the University’s Global Strategy. Their main focus will be on achieving international student recruitment targets within the Faculty of Science.
The specific priorities and objectives of the role will be determined by the Faculty Executive Dean, Faculty Manager, and International Office. Initially, the emphasis will be on increasing international student recruitment in departments such as Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science. However, these priorities may change in response to the external student recruitment landscape and the needs of Durham University. The recruitment efforts will be coordinated with the wider International Recruitment and Marketing team based in the International Office.
The Faculty of Science comprises eight departments responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as research. The Faculty is also responsible for the interdisciplinary undergraduate Natural Sciences degree program, which allows students to study science alongside other subjects.
The International Office has the following responsibilities:

Recruiting international students across all areas of the university to meet institutional targets
Supporting and managing the development of international partnerships to enhance the university’s global reputation and assist academic colleagues in establishing international connections and collaborations
Managing the university’s student mobility programs (such as Erasmus+ and other exchange partnerships) to meet student mobility targets

The postholder will be expected to explore all possible opportunities for increasing international student enrollment in the Faculty and address any barriers to recruitment. This may involve fostering partnerships to facilitate collaborative programs or Transnational Education (TNE), providing guidance on program development, facilitating admissions-related process and system changes, or utilizing digital technology (such as advertising, social media, live chat, video conferencing) to attract and convert international applicants. The postholder will have the flexibility to work in both the Faculty Office and the International Office, with options for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
The post will be supervised by the Head of International Student Recruitment in the International Office.
