The Faculty International Recruitment Manager plays a crucial role in supporting Durham University Business School and the International Office in achieving the University’s Global Strategy. This includes focusing on international student recruitment targets within the Business School and improving the diversity of the student population. The Faculty International Recruitment Manager works closely with the Faculty Executive Dean, Faculty Manager, and International Office to develop and deliver the Faculty International Plan. One key objective is to diversify the international student population and reduce reliance on a single market. The role involves coordinating recruitment and conversion efforts across the Faculty, International Office, and other departments to improve conversion rates at every stage of the applicant journey. The post holder also assists the International Office in training and managing international recruitment agents. The priorities of the role may change over time in response to external student recruitment trends and Durham University’s priorities. The recruitment activities are aligned with the wider International Recruitment and Marketing team within the International Office. Durham University Business School consists of four departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Management & Marketing. These departments are responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as research. The International Office is responsible for recruiting international students to all areas of the university and supporting the development of international partnerships to raise the university’s global profile. They also manage student mobility programs like Erasmus+ and other exchange partnerships. The Faculty International Recruitment Manager actively seeks opportunities to increase student population diversity and address recruitment barriers. This includes developing partnerships for collaborative programs, advising on new program development, facilitating admissions-related process and system changes, and utilizing digital technology (e.g., advertising, social media, live chat, video conferencing) to attract and convert international applicants. The postholder has the flexibility to work between the Business School and the International Office, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements available.
