Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Location: Predominately based at the Singleton Park Campus however the role holder may occasionally be required to work all sites of Swansea University

The post-holder will play a key role in coordinating activity relating to international mobility opportunities within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science including inbound/ outbound students (i.e. Swansea University students spending time studying or working overseas participating in one of the range of Global Opportunities available). This will include working with Faculty Associate Dean International, Internationalisation and Recruitment Manager and in partnership with other Faculties and departments to develop new Global Opportunities, working with colleagues to increase the uptake of these opportunities as well as providing support to Swansea University students before, during and after they spend time studying or working overseas.

As part of the Marketing, Recruitment and international Team within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science, the postholder will provide general administrative support, having knowledge of all processes undertaken by the team. This includes involvement with processing applications for outgoing students, dealing with the requirements of institutional partners, supporting outbound students during their period abroad and supporting with general MRI administrative responsibilities as required.

  1. To provide high quality, professional, flexible service and administrative support which is customer-focused, effective and outcome driven, across all areas of the Faculty’s Exchange, Study Abroad and international employability activities. Manage enquiries around study abroad opportunities and escalating any concerns to the Faculty Internationalisation and Recruitment Manager.
  2. Work closely with School Internationalisation Leads, or the relevant academic colleagues and the Go Global Team in the International Development Office in providing support to Swansea students in preparation for, and during the students’ ‘Global Opportunities’.
  3. Work closely with Faculty School Internationalisation Leads, or the relevant academic colleagues and the inbound section of the Go Global team to support activities around inbound exchange and visiting students

Experience:

  • Previous administrative experience at a high performing level.
  • Experience of working within and contributing to an effective and high preforming team, providing support and guidance to colleagues and line managers.
  • The ability to organise own workload, with the ability to prioritise a number of varied tasks efficiently, whilst delivering accurate, consistent information against challenging deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally to the University.
  • Excellent IT skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office Packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include strong presentation skills with ability to confidently run and present sessions for students in small (10) to large (300+) cohort groups.
