**Executive Vice President (Relocation Required to Kuwait)**
**American International University – Kuwait City**

### Job Purpose:

The Executive Vice President (EVP) at American International University (AIU) in Kuwait operates as the senior academic officer under the direction of the CEO. This role involves overseeing and aligning academic programs, maintaining high standards for faculty, administration, and students, and ensuring the University’s educational excellence. Serving a growing student body, the EVP will nurture a rigorous and student-focused culture on campus while driving student retention, progression, and successful completion of programs. The incumbent will provide strategic, visionary leadership, fostering sustainable practices, excellence in teaching, effective learning, and lifelong success for students.

In addition, the EVP is pivotal in advancing institutional and programmatic accreditation, optimizing the university’s standards and effectiveness through strategic data utilization, and refining academic programs with contemporary technologies to maintain graduates’ competitiveness. Key responsibilities also include managing the Registrar’s office to efficiently utilize timetables and faculty resources, thereby supporting the university’s academic goals.

### Duties:

– Serve as the senior academic officer responsible for university organization and administration.
– Make policy recommendations to the Board on all university-related matters.
– Recommend personnel additions or changes and update personnel policies.
– Conduct regular meetings with department directors and above.
– Attend Board of Trustee meetings as a non-voting member and oversee staff presentations to the Board.
– Collaborate closely with partner universities, ensuring active engagements and successful program implementations.
– Exercise broad discretionary powers to fulfill the University’s mission.
– Regularly review and update the technology-focused curriculum to align with industry standards and emerging tech trends.
– Formulate required reports for the Board and government agencies.
– Champion academic excellence, student engagement, and success through cohesive leadership.
– Provide professional growth opportunities for faculty and staff.
– Sustain a qualified faculty and staff through orientation, training, and information sharing to better support and motivate students.
– Promote collaboration across campus among faculty, staff, and students.
– Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the university.
– Represent AIU at external functions, establish partnerships, and act as a visible ambassador for the University.
– Use data to inspire innovation and improve student outcomes.
– Encourage collegiality and inspire action among stakeholders.
– Oversee improvements in university infrastructure, including physical facilities and IT.
– Be available for evening and weekend duties, with occasional travel required.
– Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.

### Experience and Education:

– Advanced degree required (MBA preferred) or Ph.D.
– Minimum of five years of senior-level leadership experience.
– Experience in strategic, educational, and facilities master planning.
– Knowledge of academic affairs, student life, and university administration.
– Visionary, innovative, and effective leadership.
– Sensitivity to and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds.
– Experience in institutional and program accreditation preparation.
– Strong organizational skills in budget and resource management.
– Team-building acumen in a complex environment.
– Experience in staff development and evaluation.
– Strong regard for students and appreciation of student life aspects.
– Advocacy for and understanding of student success principles.
– Proven ability to create a cohesive team focused on teaching, learning, and student success.
