The Opportunity: Executive Director at INTO UAB

INTO University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB) is a student-centered institution known for its excellence in education and scholarship. Located in historic downtown Birmingham, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs that empower students for success on a global scale.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivational leader to join our team as the Center Director for INTO UAB. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing the INTO UAB center, ensuring it reflects the goals and values of both UAB and INTO University Partnerships, and delivering a world-class experience for students and stakeholders.

Due to the global nature of our organization, travel, both international and domestic, will be required to support business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

– Leadership & Vision: Drive the strategic and operational objectives of the Center, ensuring alignment with the mission of UAB and INTO University Partnerships.
– Quality Management: Oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning, promoting an outstanding student experience that maximizes retention and success.
– Performance Culture: Foster a culture of performance management and team building to attract, retain, and develop quality employees.
– Stakeholder Relationships: Build effective and supportive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key university personnel and INTO network colleagues.
– Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources to achieve maximum return on investment while maintaining high standards for academic programs and student support.
– Financial Oversight: Drive financial performance by managing budgets, ensuring transparency, and optimizing operations within established budgets.
– Strategic Direction: Provide strategic leadership to Center management and director teams, ensuring successful daily operations.
– Admissions & Enrollment: Implement best practices for application review, admission turnaround times, and enrollment management in coordination with the university.
– Senior Management Participation: Contribute as a member of the INTO North America Senior Management Team.
– Compliance & Reporting: Ensure activities meet quality management, health and safety, legal, and environmental standards, and prepare timely analyses and reports.

What we need from you:

– Master’s Degree
– Higher Education Expertise: Proven experience in academia or related fields
– Leadership Skills: Demonstrated strategic, financial, and operational achievements
– Financial Acumen: Proficient in financial planning, risk management, and budgeting (over $1 million annually)
– International Experience: Worked in global contexts, understanding diverse educational environments
– Standards & Performance: Developed and implemented best practices; fostered a performance management culture
– Communication: Exceptional skills in engaging stakeholders effectively
– Travel Ready: Eligible to work in and travel to/from the U.S. without immigration support
– Project Management: Strong prioritization, deadline management, and resource management abilities
– Student Support: Committed to creating a nurturing environment for student success
– Operational Balance: Skillful in balancing high-quality academics with efficient business operations
– Relationship Building: Strong influencing and motivational abilities
– Decision-Making: Sound judgment under pressure
– Tech-Savvy: Competent IT and analytical skills

Compensation & Benefits:

INTO offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $130,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience. This includes comprehensive benefits such as 11 paid holidays, generous PTO, employer contributions to health insurance and retirement savings, and more.
