Job Overview:
The Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) is seeking a dedicated professional to join as the Events and International Online School Officer. This position plays a vital role in shaping and executing events related to forced migration on an international scale. Collaborating closely with the Centre Manager, RSC Director, International School Directors, and other staff, the role involves organizing and managing events designed to engage academics, policy-makers, practitioners, and the public. This position offers a unique opportunity for an innovative individual with strong organizational and project coordination skills to make a significant impact in the field.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Organizing three week-long International Online Schools focused on Forced Migration and providing necessary administrative support.
  • Developing and maintaining the virtual learning environment for the International Online School using the Canvas platform.
  • Promoting the International Online School to attract participants and secure funding support.
  • Collaboratively designing and creating new event concepts as well as enhancing existing ones.
  • Coordinating the Visiting Fellowship Programme, managing applications, enquiries, and organizing inductions.

Position Details:

  • The role is full-time and fixed term for 13 months with the option to work at a reduced 0.8 FTE.
  • Offers hybrid working arrangements with the possibility of two remote working days per week to ensure work-life balance.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Proven numeracy skills with experience in budget management and producing financial reports.
  • Experience in the higher education sector is advantageous.
