Join our Team as an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer at UCLan!
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is thrilled to announce an opening for an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Officer to join our dedicated EDI team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and implement strategic projects, policies, and action plans that prioritize EDI across all aspects of UCLan. If you have experience in identifying EDI challenges, developing effective solutions, collaborating with various stakeholders, and working towards professional charter marks, we encourage you to apply.
Initially, you will be responsible for leading the development of our Race Equality Charter. This will involve collaborating with a diverse self-assessment team from our university community. As the EDI Officer, you will work closely with external organizations, internal groups, and key stakeholders to develop evidence-based initiatives and coordinate the submission. You will also provide expert advice and support to colleagues throughout UCLan to ensure compliance with relevant EDI legislation and promote positive change based on best practices in and outside of the Higher Education sector.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum education level equivalent to A’ Levels and possess a strong understanding of equality legislation and best practices in EDI. Essential skills for this role include the ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently, effectively communicate complex information to different audiences, and demonstrate a strong commitment to the University’s values.
UCLan is dedicated to creating an inclusive and diverse environment for all. We value diversity of thought, perspectives, and experiences, and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
