POSITION PURPOSE

As an Education Counselor at IDP, your role is to guide international students in finding the institutions that best align with their learning and career aspirations. You will drive the achievement of pipeline goals, customer satisfaction, and advocacy targets throughout every stage of the student journey. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting IDP products and services directly to students and providing support for issues beyond placement.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Melbourne.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Achievement

  • Provide information and advice to international students and their families regarding study opportunities in Australia, in English and other applicable languages.
  • Submit applications to institutions, obtain offers, and facilitate enrollments.
  • Follow up on leads and inquiries to maximize the number of submitted and finalized applications.
  • Support IDP network students with on-arrival issues and on-shore IDP services.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-servicing between IELTS and Student Service customers and act to increase the uptake of both services.

Professional Competence

  • Demonstrate a high level of product knowledge and proficiency in using C4C to manage student cases and generate performance reports. Ensure accuracy in data entry and management.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of student visa conditions and client programs and processes.

Customer Service Orientation

  • Provide timely and professional assistance to student inquiries received face-to-face, over the phone, via live chat, and through email.
  • Address student inquiries, requests, and complaints, and provide necessary information and support.
  • Deliver customer service to IELTS test takers and students visiting the student services office.
  • Occasionally manage reception duties, including responding to and redirecting queries when necessary.
  • Assist and promote IDP IELTS test candidates with general information and test bookings.
  • Support students with on-arrival issues and provide on-shore IDP services.

Interactions and Teamwork

  • Support event managers in organizing major promotional events such as Interview Sessions and semi-annual exhibitions.
  • Assist in promoting and booking student excursions and cultural events.
  • Provide input on marketing activities to enhance the IDP brand and services, collaborating with the Marketing Coordinator for coordinating advertisements in community newspapers and websites.
  • Identify market opportunities and threats.
  • Effectively communicate and present information to students, colleagues, and other staff members.
  • Share market insights and updates on issues and trends with peers.

Building Collaborative Relationships

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Team Leaders to develop relationships and projects with institution representatives.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with IDP network counselors, as well as marketing and admissions staff from institutions.
  • Proactively seek partnership opportunities with industry stakeholders, such as student associations, migration agents, and referral partners.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 1 year of working experience as an Education Counselor/Consultant in Australia.
  • Good communication skills in English, fluency in Tagalog desirable.
  • Highly motivated and target-driven, with a proven track record in sales.
  • Achievement-oriented and customer service-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Collaborative and a team player.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the needs and issues of on-shore international students.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet skills.

GOOD TO HAVE

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Understanding of the immigration system and visa pathways.
  • QEAC certification.
