The Student Services Directorate at the University of Dundee offers comprehensive support and resources to enhance the student experience. We are hiring an exceptional individual to join us as an EAP Tutor responsible for teaching across various academic disciplines. Key responsibilities include lesson planning, implementing lessons, maintaining teaching records, assessing student work, and providing feedback. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of teaching in an academic setting. This role involves designing and implementing lessons based on an established curriculum, allowing candidates to showcase their teaching skills and creativity. Lastly, this position offers the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Your main priorities will include:
- Effectively delivering English for General and Specific Academic Purposes courses and modules.
- Collaborating with colleagues in EIS and other university teams to enhance the student experience.
- Demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
We are seeking candidates who:
- Have the necessary education and qualifications, such as an MA TESOL and/or DELTA certification.
- Possess relevant work experience, including recent involvement in an EAP Tutor role. Candidates should have experience delivering, assessing, and enhancing academic English courses, especially in discipline-specific contexts.
- Exhibit excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills. Effective communication skills, including cultural sensitivity and diplomacy, are essential when interacting with stakeholders.
