Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages (IUHPFL)
The Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages (IUHPFL) offers language-intensive summer study abroad programs for Indiana high school students. With a focus on total immersion, participants have the opportunity to enhance their language skills and cultural understanding through intensive academic instruction, language commitment, community engagement, and living with a host family. The program has a long-standing tradition of excellence and is seeking a new director to shape its future.

Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Program management: Ensure adherence to quality standards, including student preparation, emergency management, compliance, and satisfaction.
- Strategic program development and expansion: Identify opportunities for program enhancement and growth.
- Relationship building: Foster collaborations with other departments, high schools, and stakeholders.
- Personnel management: Recruit, train, and supervise program staff.
- Enrollment management: Manage student applications throughout the enrollment process.
- Fiscal management: Operate within budgetary constraints.
General Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and coordination for student programming projects.
- Develop business plans and operational objectives.
- Oversee personnel actions and resource allocation.
- Make budgetary recommendations and ensure cost containment.
- Stay updated on industry standards and implement new protocols.
- Collaborate with other student programming leaders to establish standards and best practices.
- Prepare reports for senior administration, committees, and task forces.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field
Preferred
- Master’s degree in higher education student affairs or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 4 years in student programs, higher education student affairs, or related field
- 1 year of management experience
