### Position Summary
**Title:** Director, Pulliam Center for International Education
**Location:** Queens University of Charlotte
Queens University of Charlotte is seeking a forward-thinking and dynamic professional to lead its international education initiatives as the Director of the Pulliam Center for International Education. The Director will be responsible for providing vision and strategic leadership for all international education activities, which include promoting global learning opportunities, enhancing international partnerships, and creating comprehensive international experiences for students.
### Responsibilities
**Leadership and Strategic Planning:**
– Lead international education initiatives in alignment with the university’s global engagement goals and student success strategies.
– Advocate for international education at various forums locally, nationally, and internationally.
– Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate global learning into the university’s curricula.
**Program Development and Oversight:**
– Oversee the John Belk International Program (JBIP), which offers affordable international learning experiences to all full-time undergraduate students.
– Develop and maintain international partnerships and secure external funding for international programs.
– Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and preparation for international experiences.
**Collaboration and Outreach:**
– Act as a liaison to promote global engagement initiatives.
– Co-chair the International Programs Committee and participate in relevant university committees.
– Organize special events to promote international awareness and global engagement.
– Lead efforts to promote study abroad programs and international opportunities through various outreach strategies.
**Compliance and Risk Management:**
– Ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Department of State regulations, serving as Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO).
– Guide the Assistant Director for International Student Services in managing immigration processes.
– Develop risk management strategies for international programs, including emergency response plans.
**Supervision and Professional Development:**
– Supervise and mentor a team of international education professionals, including two Assistant Directors and work-study students or graduate assistants.
– Oversee staff responsibilities, budgets, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
### Qualifications
**Required:**
– Master’s degree in international education, higher education administration, or a related field.
– Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in international education.
– Experience with SEVIS, F-1, and J-1 visa programs.
– Strong understanding of international student recruitment and partnerships.
– Excellent leadership, project management, and cross-cultural communication skills.
**Preferred:**
– Previous experience as a DSO or PDSO.
– Fluency in a second language.
– Experience with grant writing and securing external funding.
– Familiarity with international partnerships, including Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
