Position: Director of International Development
Job Title: Director C, Development, Fundraising

Job Summary:
The Director of International Development will serve as a strategic leader within Penn’s Development and Alumni Relations department. The responsibility involves crafting and operationalizing robust fundraising strategies for various international cities and regions. This role requires a keen understanding of cultural, political, and philanthropic landscapes. The aim is to enhance major and leadership gifts from international alumni, parents, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic plans for donor engagement in assigned regions, focusing on major gift acquisition.
  • Manage high-potential markets and cultivate significant international prospects through each phase of development.
  • Collaborate with school and center directors to support international development initiatives.
  • Advocate for international constituents and facilitate tax-efficient giving opportunities.
  • Plan and execute strategic events and volunteer leadership initiatives.
  • Guide university leaders on international trips, utilizing existing relationships and alumni networks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) with 7-10 years of progressive fundraising experience, ideally in the international sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of international charitable giving, tax incentives in various jurisdictions, and cultural protocols.
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability to diverse cultures, and foreign language proficiency are advantageous.
  • Willingness to undertake extensive international travel.
  • Valid passport and driver’s licenses are necessary.

Salary Range: $74,476.00 – $160,000.00 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
