#### Duties and Responsibilities

– **Direct International Admissions:** Lead the international admissions operation for the Office of Global Engagement (OGE) with strategic and tactical direction.
– **Develop Admissions Strategy:** Design and implement a comprehensive international admissions strategy to meet ambitious enrollment goals.
– **Oversee Admissions Process:** Manage all aspects of international admissions, from initial inquiries to enrollment, ensuring timely processing of applications and issuance of I-20 forms.
– **Optimize Admissions Yield:** Identify areas for improvement in the international student application process and implement strategies to optimize yield.
– **Strategic Planning:** Participate in strategic planning and development to meet organizational goals.
– **Recruitment and Outreach:** Build and lead a team of professionals focused on recruitment and outreach.
– **Staff Management:** Train, supervise, and evaluate staff involved in international student admissions.
– **Budget Management:** Oversee the international student admissions budget and develop strategies to maximize return on investment.
– **Foster Relationships:** Build strong ties with international high schools, colleges, universities, and recruitment agencies.
– **Compliance and Inclusivity:** Ensure compliance with federal regulations and foster a welcoming environment for international students.
– **Stay Updated:** Stay current on trends and best practices in international admissions.
– **Advisory Role:** Provide best practices, policy advice, and recommendations to the Assistant Provost for OGE and UH Manoa leadership.
– **Collaboration:** Collaborate with other campuses within the UH system to recruit students and build pipelines to UH Manoa.
– **Travel:** Travel for visitations, presentations, and college fairs across Oahu, neighbor islands, nationally, or to foreign countries.
– **Flexibility:** Work outside of standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
– **Other Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned.

#### Minimum Qualifications

– **Degree:** Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Language, or related field.
– **Experience:** 6 years of progressively responsible professional experience in International Student Services, Student Recruitment/Admissions, or Student Services in higher education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– **Knowledge:** Advanced understanding of international student admissions concepts, principles, theories, and legal guidelines.
– **Problem Solving:** Ability to understand broad issues and apply innovative problem-solving strategies.
– **Communication:** Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, persuasion, and negotiation.
– **Interpersonal Skills:** Proven ability to establish effective relationships with various organizations and individuals.
– **Technical Skills:** Competence in using personal computers and word processing software.
– **Supervisory Skills:** Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing work priorities and employee relations.
– **Leadership:** Extensive experience in a leadership role.
– **Project Management:** Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
– **Recruitment:** Proven success in developing and implementing international recruitment strategies.
– **Trend Awareness:** Understanding of the international education landscape and current trends.
– **Teamwork:** Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
– **Higher Education**: Extensive experience working with students, faculty, and administrators.
– **Travel:** Willingness to travel off island and work outside normal hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

#### Desirable Qualifications

– **Advanced Degree:** Master’s degree in educational administration, social sciences, or related field.
– **Regional Experience:** Experience working in the Asia-Pacific region.
– **Language Skills:** Fluency in a second language; proficiency in Japanese, Chinese, or Korean preferred.
