Position: Director of Global Partnerships (1.0 FTE)
Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary: AM3 £74,669 – £79,736 (dependent upon skills and experience)
Annual Leave: 30 days + standard public holidays + additional 4 days (office closure between Christmas and New Year)
Main Responsibilities:
As the Director of Global Partnerships, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with partner institutions worldwide. This will involve leveraging your interpersonal skills to connect with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration, identifying business opportunities, and supporting income growth. Regular international travel will be required to oversee our activities abroad, ensuring partnership success and exploring new avenues for growth.
You will also work closely with the recruitment teams, providing strategic guidance to utilize our partnerships for international student recruitment and overall strategy. Collaboration with Deans and senior colleagues will be essential to align strategic objectives and bring international partnership projects to fruition. Through analysis of existing markets and identification of new opportunities, you will advise and guide colleagues and navigate potential challenges.
Commercial oversight will be a key aspect of your role, driving the development and growth of our collaborative partnerships. This will involve business development, maintaining legal contracts, engaging in commercial negotiations, and working with senior-level partners. Your ability to identify and address commercial risks will be crucial for maintaining partnership success.
In addition, you will represent the university externally in relevant forums, building and strengthening relationships with external bodies and stakeholders. This ambassadorial role will enhance the university’s profile, reputation, and internationalization opportunities globally.
Furthermore, you will lead and shape the study abroad and global experiences programs. This will involve developing a sustainable strategy, creating opportunities for student participation, and fostering global development. You will lead the study abroad team, ensuring exceptional student support, expanding our network of partner institutions, and enhancing international experiences for our current students.
Required Skills and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have a proven track record in international higher education, with expertise in transnational education, business development, and international student activities. Strong leadership experience within complex environments and a deep understanding of global market issues will be crucial for building long-term relationships with stakeholders, students, and partners.
Required Qualifications:
A degree or equivalent qualification is required, along with substantial relevant experience. You should also have substantial experience in senior management roles in international partnerships, including the development and management of large-scale overseas collaborative partnerships.
