Responsibilities include:
– Supervising faculty-led and independent study abroad opportunities.
– Collaborating with the Executive Director of Academic and Student Success to establish and maintain international partnerships.
– Addressing early alerts for international students at the Edinboro and Clarion campuses.
– Conducting freshman transition meetings for first-year international students at the Edinboro and Clarion campuses.
– Cultivating and developing international contacts to enhance international opportunities and programming.
– Managing the Coordinator of International Student Services on the California campus.
– Designing and delivering the international student orientation program.
– Communicating with newly accepted students and overseeing the student arrival process to ensure pre-departure and arrival needs are met for the Edinboro and Clarion campuses.
– Providing assistance and advice on immigration-related matters for international students and scholars.
– Acting as the main contact for international students and scholars at the Edinboro and Clarion campuses, addressing academic, personal, and non-immigrant status concerns, and referring them to appropriate campus resources.
– Issuing I-20s and DS-2019s for newly admitted students and scholars and ensuring compliance by reviewing necessary documentation.
– Managing the day-to-day operations and supervision of the Graduate Assistant and student staff on the Edinboro and Clarion campuses.
– Assisting new international students and scholars with their arrival and adjustment to the Edinboro and Clarion campuses, including airport pick-up.
– Managing the financial and human resources allocated to the Global Education department.
– Serving as the lead Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for PennWest.
– Ensuring institutional compliance with USCIS, DHS, and SEVP regulations regarding F-1 students.
– Acting as the Responsible Officer (RO) for PennWest and ensuring institutional compliance with USCIS, DHS, and DOS regulations regarding J-1 students/scholars.
– Serving as the liaison with USCIS, DOS, DHS, and SEVP.
– Overseeing Export Control Compliance related to international travel and visitors under the guidance of the PASSHE Law Office.
– Promoting and marketing the initiatives of the Office of Global Education in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Office.
– Participating in professional development activities and meetings of the International Educators Network (IEN) – PASSHE.
– Monitoring and responding to inquiries through mail, phone, or email.
– Staying updated on regulatory immigration compliance to maintain knowledge and best practices for international students, scholars, and the university
