**Location and Flexibility**
The role is primarily based at our Cardiff campus but requires the ability and readiness to work from home and other locations as needed.

We are currently seeking a Director for the Commonwealth Leadership Institute for a part-time, fixed-term position, with a commitment of 7.4 hours per week.

**The Role**
The appointee will spearhead the development of the Commonwealth Leadership Institute as part of a growing collaboration between the university and an extensive network across Wales, the UK, and internationally. This role, engaging across Institutes, supports the Institute of Management and Health’s (IMH) goal to enhance its global agenda across various disciplines. The position is jointly associated with IMH and the Institute of Education and Humanities, which manages significant UNESCO projects and other key partnerships aligned with its Future Generations and Sustainability goals. A fundamental aspect of this role is to strategically align these activities for the benefit of all involved parties.

Initially, this position is fixed-term for two years, but we hope to extend it following a successful outcome review. For more details, please refer to the Job Description, which includes essential and desirable criteria for the ‘Person Specification’.

**Requirements**
Applicants should possess:

– A PhD in a relevant field.
– Appropriate professional recognition suitable for the role’s responsibilities.
– Flexibility in duties, shift patterns, and locations, with readiness to respond to urgent business needs.
– Extensive experience in high-level, high-profile collaborations.
– Proven ability to create effective partnerships for leadership development.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with individuals at all levels.
– A solid record in acquiring resources for major multi-party initiatives.
– The ambition, vision, and ability to inspire others similarly.
– Leadership ability in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner to create a sustainable, dynamic future for the Institute.

**Desirable Attributes**
– Relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience
– Proficiency in Welsh, both orally and in writing.
