**Role Overview:**
The Director of International Programs and Services at Millersville University leads the International Student and Scholarship unit within the Office of International Programs and Services. This role requires close cooperation with a team and reports to the Assistant Vice President of International Programs and Global Engagement. The Director supports undergraduate, graduate, English Language Institute, non-degree international students, and J-1 scholars at the University. Key responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing international student and scholar programs, overseeing short-term initiatives, and ensuring compliance with immigration and export control regulations. This position is also the primary contact for crisis management involving international students and scholars.

**Required Qualifications:**
– Master’s degree in international education, higher education administration, public administration, or a related field
– Five years of professional experience in international education
– Role as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO)
– Capacity to assimilate new ideas, information, and technology

– Strong customer service, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
– High emotional intelligence and active listening abilities
– Decision-making proficiency
– Independence while effectively collaborating as a team member
– Professionalism in handling communication, information, and data sensitively

**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Doctoral degree in a related field
– Experience in advising on international education initiatives
– Expertise in negotiation and conflict resolution
– Fluency in foreign languages
– International living or travel experience
**Essential Functions:**
– Minimal physical effort and exposure to risks; primarily office-based work
– Ability to sit for prolonged periods
– Basic math proficiency
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
