**Job Posting**

– **Location:** Athens, GA

– **Schedule:** Typical hours are Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm, with occasional work outside these hours when needed.
– **Salary:** $110,000 – $124,000 , commensurate with experience.

**Position Summary**

The Director of International Initiatives will play a crucial role in advancing the strategic objectives of the Office of Global Engagement and the University of Georgia under the direction of the Associate Provost for Global Engagement. This position involves collaboration with various UGA departments, such as the Office of Research, Legal Affairs, Institutional Research, and Sponsored Projects Administration. The Director will engage with administrators and faculty across academic units and research centers to facilitate international partnerships, collaborative degree programs, and projects aimed at capacity building abroad. This position is designed to enhance UGA’s internationalization efforts.

**Key Responsibilities:**

– Coordinate internal grant programs that support faculty and graduate student mobility, collaborating with strategic partner universities and funding agencies.
– Identify research target areas, develop seed funding initiatives, and oversee the proposal review process.
– Secure and manage grants aligning with the scope of the Office of Global Engagement from federal agencies, private foundations, or other entities.
– Develop metrics and manage UGA’s interactive inventory of global engagement.
– Supervise budgeting for office operations, federal grants, and cooperative agreements.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

– Master’s degree
– Knowledge of grant agency practices and procedures
– Ability to execute contractual agreements
– Significant experience in fostering global partnerships
– Comprehensive understanding of disciplinary research
– Experience supervising employees
