**Role Overview**
The newly established position of Director for UTD Global is a pivotal leadership role focused on advancing the University’s global online and digital education strategy. This role aligns with UTD’s mission as a leading global public university and aims to broaden the reach of our educational offerings to students worldwide, in both face-to-face and online formats.
The Director will create and implement programs to extend our presence beyond the U.S. This includes developing online preparation courses for international students, specialized certificate programs, and expanding dual degree and partnership programs. They will manage the creation of online, hybrid, and in-person programs from inception, ensuring they align with our global strategic objectives. The role also involves fostering innovative learning opportunities that cater to employers and lifelong learners while overseeing the management of the UTD Global budget and the online learning platform.
Reporting to the Senior Director for International Initiatives within the International Center, this full-time position requires collaboration with the Vice Provost for Global Engagement, Dean of Graduate Education, and various senior academic leaders. It also involves periodic international travel and participation in seminars, workshops, and conferences.
**Key Responsibilities**
– Recruit and lead a high-performing team.
– Implement and manage strategic programs in collaboration with academic leaders.
– Develop long-term planning strategies, policies, and data management processes.
– Collaborate with technology services to support current and future needs.
– Ensure operational alignment with institutional goals.
– Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accountability.
– Support UTD Global students with relevant services and resources.
– Champion digital learning initiatives across the University.
– Additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
– A master’s degree with ten years of relevant experience; five years in online post-secondary education program management.
– Proven experience in online program development and management.
– Knowledge in technology trends and digital education tools.
– Strong leadership and customer service skills.
– Effective collaboration and partnership-building capabilities.
– Experience managing staff and utilizing metrics for accountability.
– Effective decision-making abilities in a research-focused environment.
– Exceptional communication skills.
– Experience in integrating support services in diverse course formats.
– College or university teaching experience, particularly in online and hybrid settings.
– Enthusiasm for digital education and collaboration with faculty.
