Director / Associate Director – International Student Recruitment Melbourne and Sydney

The Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIH) is a private higher education institution that offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses at its centrally located campuses in Sydney and Melbourne.

We are looking for qualified and motivated individuals with experience in managing and developing international student recruitment teams in both domestic and international markets. Ideally, candidates should have experience in the commercial higher education sector.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), these roles play a key role in driving AIH’s business growth through the implementation of marketing and recruitment strategies. Responsibilities will focus on leading student recruitment, profitability, and international reputation.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee direct reports, including hiring, coaching, training, and ensuring team members meet their KPIs.
• Achieve “net market revenue” targets on a rolling monthly and annual basis within budget.
• Develop sales plans, targets, and KPIs for direct reports.
• Manage a network of onshore and offshore strategic partners, such as education agents and institutions, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Ensure effective agent appointment, management, and compliance practices.
• Support the COO in tracking industry and competitor performance and making strategic recommendations based on market trends and changes.
• Support targeted marketing and communications efforts in both domestic and international markets.
• Contribute to the regular optimization of systems and processes.

Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team in developing and implementing international student recruitment plans and activities, preferably in the Australian higher education sector.
• Strong business and marketing acumen to understand the impact of both B2C and B2B activities on business objectives and student recruitment KPIs.
• Extensive experience in the international student recruitment industry, particularly in B2B education agent management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive business relationships across cultures and nationalities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and learning to achieve business objectives.
• Proven time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
