Job Description

Job Summary:
As the Director of Assessment, you will spearhead the leadership and management of assessment efforts under general direction. Your role will involve implementing tools to measure student achievement and curricular efficacy, developing feedback mechanisms, and overseeing a systematic outcomes assessment plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement instruments for assessing student achievement and curricular effectiveness.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms and establish timelines for improving student achievement.
  • Create and execute systematic outcomes assessment plans while overseeing programmatic assessments.
  • Identify and refine tools for assessing program effectiveness.
  • Manage an electronic data warehouse for assessment information and reports.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration in curriculum mapping and auditing.
  • Provide methodological expertise in data collection instrument design.
  • Foster a culture of assessment by building relationships with faculty and other stakeholders.
  • Administer departmental budgets and oversee fiscal operations.
  • Assist with institutional and discipline-specific accreditations as needed.
  • Support the institution’s SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Ten years of related experience, including at least three years in a supervisory role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. preferred.
  • Expertise in postsecondary education assessment, data analysis, and educational outcomes.
  • Experience with assessment software systems and institutional accreditation standards.
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data for report preparation and presentation.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask, work cooperatively with others, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with institutional accreditation and assessment models.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and survey design.
  • Skilled in managing assessment software systems and preparing reports effectively.

License/Professional Certification: None

Physical Requirements: Work performed in a general office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Supervision: This role involves supervising employees.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability for evening and/or weekend work.
  • Face-to-face interaction on campus required.
  • Maintain a regular on-campus attendance schedule.

Salary: $76,000 annually
