The Chief Marketing Technologist (CMT) plays a crucial role in shaping Alliant International University System’s digital and marketing strategies, reporting to the Chief Operations & Innovation Officer (COIO). This senior executive position requires a unique combination of marketing expertise, technological insight, and leadership abilities. The CMT is responsible for driving digital and marketing transformation across the university system, using data, technology, and strategic thinking to achieve institutional objectives. The salary for this position is $195,000.
The minimum qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from a four-year accredited college or university. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications in digital marketing, data analytics, or related areas are a plus. The ideal candidate should have at least twelve years of progressive experience in marketing and technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving digital and marketing transformation initiatives. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and prior college or university marketing experience are desirable.
The successful candidate should possess strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities, along with in-depth knowledge of marketing technology and digital trends. Exceptional data analysis and interpretation skills, excellent communication and team management abilities, and a customer-focused and entrepreneurial mindset are also essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access, is required. The candidate must also have strong interpersonal skills for both internal and external interactions and be able to work effectively as part of a team. Other important skills include problem-solving, sensitivity to cultural diversity, the ability to work in high-stress conditions while maintaining composure, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
The duties and responsibilities of the Chief Marketing Technologist include crafting and implementing a multifaceted marketing strategy, building and guiding a team of marketing technologists and data analysts, leading digital transformation, enhancing the university’s brand presence, fostering student engagement, formulating and executing a marketing technology strategy, managing the selection and implementation of marketing technology tools, integrating data from diverse sources, utilizing data analytics and reporting tools, overseeing the budget, ensuring cybersecurity and compliance, and performing other related tasks as required.
This is a remote position with standard office hours, occasional evening and weekend work may be required, and periodic travel based on business needs. The work environment is a standard office setting with moderate noise and various odors. Physical requirements include regular sitting, mobility, communication (both in person and on the telephone), keyboarding, and reading.
