Association of International Education Administrators

The Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA) is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who aligns with their mission and has a forward-thinking vision. AIEA is a membership organization that was established in 1982 and is dedicated to senior leaders in the field of international education. With over 600 members worldwide, AIEA facilitates dialogue among international education leaders, organizations promoting international education, and groups involved in international higher education management.

The CEO will report directly to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and will be responsible for overseeing the Association’s operations, including administration, staff, programming, strategic vision, and plan implementation. The CEO will also represent the Association in external relations.

The CEO’s main responsibilities will include expanding partnerships, creating growth opportunities, enabling innovation through technology, establishing AIEA as a thought-leader, providing hands-on leadership in daily operations, and promoting justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Applicants for the CEO position should have proven experience in budgeting, financial and annual reporting, office management, human resources, customer service, events management, and program evaluation. Experience in association management or international education is preferred. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in international education, higher education, international studies, or a related field is strongly preferred, and a master’s degree is required. The ideal candidate should also have eight to ten years of senior management experience.

This is a full-time, remote position with some travel required for board meetings and conferences. The starting salary range is $180,000 with comprehensive benefits.
