London School of Economics and Political Science

The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is seeking a dedicated and innovative Career Consultant to enhance the support provided to our international student community. At LSE Careers, our mission is to empower students and recent alumni by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful career management and planning. In this role, you will be pivotal in leading and innovating career support services, focusing on helping international students and graduates, as well as UK-based students aiming to work overseas.

Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering engaging and informative career workshops and events, both online and in-person, tailored to the needs of international students. Additionally, you will create helpful resources and provide targeted career advice. Ideal candidates will possess excellent coaching abilities, be confident in presenting and facilitating, and have the capability to foster collaborative working relationships with various teams. A strong grasp of both the UK and global job markets, along with strategies for accessing these markets, is essential.

For candidates applying from an international education perspective, here are some tips:

  1. Highlight Global Experience: Showcase any international education experiences or work in global markets, because this aligns with LSE’s commitment to supporting a diverse student body.
  1. Demonstrate Cultural Competence: Emphasize your ability to work with students from various cultural backgrounds and your understanding of international education systems.
  1. Showcase Communication Skills: Prove your ability to communicate effectively across different cultures, which is critical for delivering workshops and support.
  1. Prepare for Interviews: Familiarize yourself with the UK job market as well as international trends. Be ready to discuss how you can help students navigate these landscapes.
  1. Be Aware of Application Procedures: Submit your application before the deadline of 23 February 2025 (23:59 UK time) and prepare for the interview rounds scheduled for 4 March and 11 March 2025.

Interested candidates should follow the application instructions provided, and for any questions, reach out to the LSE team using the contacts given in the job description. We look forward to welcoming passionate individuals to our team and regretfully cannot consider late applications
