Position Summary
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks an accomplished individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor of Biology starting Fall 2025. Position Details
This is a tenure-track, 9-month full-time role that involves teaching both introductory and advanced biology courses, including Evolution, and developing an independent research program. You’ll have opportunities to integrate undergraduate and graduate students into your research. Initially, a reduced teaching load will help you establish your research pursuits. You will also be expected to contribute to the university through service roles.
Academic Programs
The Department of Biology and Chemistry offers BA, BS, and MS degrees in Biology and a BS in Chemistry, catering to around 800 undergraduates and 30 master’s students.
Qualifications
- A doctorate in biology or a related field with a specialization in evolution is required. Candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) may be considered if they complete their doctorate before the start date.
- We encourage applicants committed to both teaching and building a dynamic research program involving student participation.
- Preferred backgrounds include entomology, invertebrate zoology, and/or population genetics.
- Ability to secure external funding is a plus.
