The position of Assistant Professor at Alliant International University requires a faculty member who holds a graduate degree in the area they will be teaching. Assistant Professors should demonstrate competency in facilitating learning, scholarship, and service. In some cases, Visiting Assistant Professors may be hired temporarily if they hold academic appointments with other universities, although they will not be eligible for a rolling contract.

This is a 12-month contract position with a starting salary of $100,000. Duties and responsibilities of the faculty include facilitating learning through classroom and distance/distributed learning, course and syllabus preparation, curriculum coordination and planning, assessment and evaluation of learners, student selection and orientation, mentoring and advising students, field placement supervision, and research/scholarship mentoring. Faculty are also expected to engage in service to the university, community, and profession.

All faculty are required to actively participate in campus life, program governance, and program and campus activities. They must also maintain regular accessibility to students and colleagues, respond promptly to communication, and participate in faculty meetings. Other duties include advising students, participating in hiring faculty, developing and coordinating curriculum, and contributing to the improvement of program quality.

Applicants for this position should possess proficient computer skills, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex requirements clearly. They should also be culturally competent and able to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. Additional qualifications include a graduate degree in nursing, with a doctorate degree preferred, relevant experience, unencumbered RN licensure, and any required certifications or licenses.
