### Purpose:
Assist in processing and preparing immigration documents for J-1 Exchange Visitors and employment-based visas, ensuring university compliance with federal regulations, and providing exceptional communication and support to international faculty, researchers, and the university community.

### Responsibilities:

**Communication, Outreach, and Support:**
– Engage with international scholars and university departments regarding J-1 Exchange Visitors.
– Manage and respond to emails in the scholar advising team inbox.
– Recommend updates to the website for international faculty and scholars.
– Participate in various programming activities throughout the year.

**Immigration Compliance/Administration:**
– Serve as Alternate Responsible Office to support federal program compliance and administrative tasks.
– Review documents submitted by scholars and departments for DS-2019 issuance.
– Issue DS-2019 documents for J-1 Exchange Visitors.
– Collaborate with front desk staff to manage inquiries from international faculty and departments.
– Work closely with the scholar advising team to identify and address issues affecting ISSS service delivery.

**Support of ISSS Functions:**
– Provide general support to office functions as needed.
– Contribute to ISSS and Texas Global critical priorities.
– Participate in internal committees and work groups to advance unit missions.

### Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree and one year of related international experience.
– Effective problem-solving skills and initiative.
– Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent written communication, attention to detail.
– Diplomatic, composed, and proactive in diverse interactions.
– Understanding of intercultural communication with experience in public speaking.
– Professional demeanor.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Commitment to high-quality, efficient customer service.
– Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

### Preferred Qualifications:
– Direct experience advising international faculty and scholars on J-1 regulations in a university context.

### Salary Range:
**$48,000**
