### Purpose:
Assist in the processing and preparation of immigration documents for J-1 Exchange Visitors and employment-based visas. Issue documents for J-1 Exchange Visitors and ensure compliance with U.S. Department of State J-1 Exchange Visitor Program regulations. Maintain detailed records and provide outstanding communication support to international faculty, researchers, and the campus community.

### Responsibilities:

#### Communication, Outreach, and Support:
– Correspond with international scholars and university departments regarding J-1 Exchange Visitor issues.
– Monitor and respond to emails sent to the scholar advising team inbox.
– Suggest updates to the website relevant to international faculty and scholars and their sponsoring departments.
– Participate in planning and implementing various programming activities throughout the year.

#### Immigration Compliance/Administration:
– Serve as Alternate Responsible Office to assist with administrative tasks and federal program compliance.
– Monitor and execute compliance reports within strict deadlines.
– Review documents submitted by prospective scholars and sponsoring departments for DS-2019 issuance.
– Issue DS-2019 documents and coordinate their mailing.
– Collaborate with front desk staff to handle inquiries.
– Work closely with the scholar advising team to address service delivery issues.

#### Support of ISSS Functions:
– Provide support to the office’s overall functions as needed.
– Actively support ISSS and Texas Global priorities.
– Participate in internal committees and workgroups to further the unit’s mission.

### Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree and one year of relevant international experience.
– Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
– Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent written communication with keen attention to detail.
– Ability to maintain diplomacy, composure, and proactivity in various interactions.
– Strong understanding of intercultural communication, with experience in public speaking and presentations.
– Professional demeanor and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Commitment to high-quality, efficient customer service for faculty, staff, and external partners.

### Preferred Qualifications:
– Direct experience advising international faculty and scholars on J-1 regulations in a university setting.

### Salary Range:
$48,000
