**Position Overview: Assistant Director of International Office/Study Abroad**
**About the Company:**
The Assistant Director of International Office/Study Abroad at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) will act as the primary point of contact for both the International Office and International Admissions. This individual will manage the abroad@iwu.edu email account and jointly manage the internationaloffice@iwu.edu account, ensuring all initial correspondence is addressed. They will oversee study abroad communications, spearhead the execution of overseas programs, and foster interest in study abroad initiatives at IWU. This role involves supporting international recruitment and admissions, serving as a back-up Designated School Official (DSO), and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Homeland Security requirements. **Key Responsibilities:**
– **Study Abroad Advising:**
– Provide guidance to students on study abroad options and assist with their application processes.
– Review and process study abroad applications from IWU students.
– Conduct online and in-person pre-departure orientations.
– Coordinate the review of scholarship applications with the Study Abroad Advisory Committee.
– Create and execute marketing campaigns including event planning, print, email, video, and social media promotions.
– Assist with visa processes as required.
– **Program Administration:**
– Manage the IWU London and IWU Barcelona programs, including issuing calls for directors, liaising with partners, reviewing contracts, and drafting budgets.
– Support short-term travel programs, online brochure development, and faculty leadership initiatives.
– Register students with STEP and oversee program spending reconciliation.
– Share information with campus partners and monitor safety and risk through various channels.
– **Recruitment and Admissions Support:**
– Represent IWU at recruitment events and engage prospective students about study abroad prospects.
– Participate in the International Admissions Committee, handling communications and document processing related to international admissions.
– Aid in implementing international student recruitment strategies.
– **International Student Advisory Role/DSO Backup:**
– Assist international students with compliance regarding status, visas, passports, and insurance.
– Support orientation sessions and manage office operations, including financial reimbursements and general office tasks.
**Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
– Three years of related experience.
– U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency needed to fulfill DSO/ARO responsibilities.
– Familiarity with study abroad advising, Terra Dotta, and undergraduate curriculum.
– Ability to learn databases and adhere to policies and procedures.
– Potentially minimal travel locally, nationally, and internationally.

**Compensation:** $46,000 annually ($23.59 per hour).
