Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is seeking an Assistant Director of Global Engagement who is passionate about international education and dedicated to the success of our students. In this role, you will provide support to international and exchange students at Rose-Hulman, as well as assist students throughout the study abroad process. As the Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for our F-1 international student and J-1 exchange visitor programs, you will also oversee immigration advising and ensure compliance with federal immigration requirements.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Global Engagement include developing initiatives to increase student participation in study abroad, collaborating with the risk management team to establish emergency procedures and response mechanisms for international experiences, and providing outreach activities to current and prospective students, faculty, and staff. Some weekend and/or evening work may be required.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree, study abroad or international student advisor or coordinator experience, and two to three years of higher education experience. Excellent attention to detail, strong cross-cultural and interpersonal skills, and good written communication skills are required. The ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Due to SEVIS regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. Preferred candidates will hold a master’s degree in college student personnel, international education, or a related field, as well as three to five years of higher education experience. Knowledge of SEVIS and U.S. government regulations for F, J, and related visa categories is preferred. Fluency in a foreign language and experience studying or living abroad are highly desirable.
