Position Overview:
The Assistant Director for Global Education is a key leadership role within the Global Education unit, dedicated to enhancing education abroad opportunities. This position is full-time, based in Athens, GA, with competitive compensation and benefits. Anticipated start date is May 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advisement and Student Support (35%):

– Promote study abroad programs and support diverse student populations in global education endeavors.
– Provide advising services, ensuring equitable and inclusive practices.
– Develop and lead cultural competence workshops.

  1. Independent Experiences and Special Initiatives (30%):

– Liaise with academic departments and external entities to manage independent global experiences.
– Oversee budget management and recruitment for international programs.

  1. Administrative and Team Support (10%):

– Support administration of education abroad activities.
– Collaborate with campus partners to enhance global education initiatives.

  1. Family and Parents Programming and Outreach (10%):

– Develop family resources to support students in global education programs.

  1. Team Management and Emergency Response (10%):

– Manage team schedules, training, and emergency response protocols.

  1. Contract Management (10%):

– Oversee contracts related to global education, ensuring timely renewals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in international education, particularly in study abroad programs.
  • Experience with financial management and program oversight.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills.
  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad.
  • Familiarity with Terra Dotta Software and Banner Student Information System.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
