Goucher College

The Assistant Director of Global Education for Programs assists in developing and implementing short-term study abroad experiences for credit and non-credit students, emphasizing academic quality and best practices for health, safety, and risk management. Working under the Director of Education Abroad, this role also oversees Goucher College’s non-credit programs for alumni and local community members. Additionally, the Assistant Director plays a key role in supporting various initiatives related to student mobility and campus internationalization.

Key Responsibilities:

50% – Develop new short-term international programs for Goucher alumni and residents of Edenwald Senior Living, in collaboration with the Director of Education Abroad. Conduct market studies, establish policies and procedures, assist faculty with program launches, and provide guidance to program participants. Work with the Office of Global Education team to create inter-generational program models.

30% – Support Goucher’s short-term faculty-led study abroad programs for undergraduate students. Aid faculty with program proposals, choose provider organizations, conduct risk management workshops, and assist with program logistics and student advising.

20% – Contribute to the growth and strategic positioning of the Office of Global Education. Responsibilities may include coordinating on-campus events, planning virtual exchange activities, assessing learning outcomes, cultivating international partnerships, and attending conferences. Some duties may involve occasional international travel.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Master’s degree in international higher education or related field

Professional Experience:

Required: 1 year of experience in instruction, advising, or programming at an institution of higher education or a similar organization
Preferred: 2 years of experience in international education, specifically with outbound student mobility programs
