Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

This job listing is for the position of Assistant Director for the Office of International Education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The job is staff type and located in Corpus Christi, Texas. The proposed minimum salary is commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The university is dynamic and designated as both a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and Minority-Serving Institution (MSI). It has over 11,000 students from 47 states and 54 foreign nations and employs over 1,400 full-time and 2,000 part-time Islanders, including students/GAs. The campus is located on a 240-acre island on Corpus Christi Bay with modern, state-of-the-art classroom buildings and support facilities.

The Assistant Director will help oversee the University’s International Pathway Program (IPP), international student and scholar services, study abroad programs, support programs and activities/events, international student health insurance, and international agreements. They will also plan, develop, and assess the overall effectiveness of the OIE services and programs, ensuring that all regulatory guidelines and policies are implemented according to federal and state rules and regulations.

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or a related field, and six (6) years of experience in advising international students, faculty, and staff concerning regulatory processes, support programs, and activities in a college or university setting. Additional education may be used as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement. They should also have professional knowledge and experience in study abroad, cross-cultural communication, information collection, and computer applications.
