Position Overview:

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Advising students on diverse study abroad options, from semester-long courses to international internships and service-learning programs.
• Leading Xavier’s unique study abroad initiatives, like the XU in Peru Center and the STEM in London semester.
• Promoting study abroad through fairs, classroom sessions, and information events.
• Facilitating orientation and re-entry programs.
• Managing study abroad application software, interacting with roughly 500 students annually.
• Nurturing partnerships with global universities and maintaining connections with faculty and departments.
• Overseeing program evaluations and assessments.
• Acting as a secondary point of contact for emergencies abroad.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or a related field is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in international education or study abroad programs.
• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on intercultural proficiency.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience advising undergraduate students.
• Familiarity with study abroad best practices and software like Terra Dotta, or a willingness to learn.
• Experience living or studying abroad is a plus.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is advantageous.
