Iowa State University is hiring an Assistant Director of Admissions – International Operations to oversee daily international admissions operations. This position will report to the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost, and the main responsibility will be to attract, recruit, orient, and enroll a diverse group of new undergraduate students to meet the university’s enrollment targets.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience in international admission processing within a higher education environment. They should also possess excellent customer service skills, be proactive in problem-solving, and have the ability to find creative solutions that result in a smooth applicant experience. Additionally, the candidate should provide strategic guidance for increasing international enrollment at Iowa State. This role will be part of a dynamic international enrollment team and will collaborate closely with international recruiters and campus partners to ensure successful new student enrollment.
The candidate for this position must reside in Iowa. The role is hybrid, allowing for 2-3 days of remote work per week after a training period. As the position entails working with students in different time zones and participating in programming, some evening and weekend hours outside of regular business hours will be required. Occasional domestic and international travel will also be necessary for professional development and student recruitment and enrollment support.
The minimum qualifications for this position are a bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience. Preferred qualifications include experience working with international students in higher education, knowledge of international credential evaluations, supervisory experience in data operations and admissions processes, experience with international recruitment travel, and a master’s degree in a related discipline
