**Position Overview: Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS)**
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at the University at Buffalo is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this role is pivotal in developing and implementing strategies to boost enrollment and managing comprehensive enrollment operations. These operations encompass logistics, school-wide recruitment, admissions, yield enhancement, and the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless transition for new students. SEAS is distinguished as the second-ranked public engineering school in the Northeast and among the top 30 public engineering schools in the nation. The school houses nine academic departments, offering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with key staff to meet enrollment targets, influencing every stage of the admission lifecycle from prospect to enrollment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– **Supervision and Leadership:** Lead key staff managers involved in all stages of the admission lifecycle, including marketing and communications, CRM, admissions operations, and recruitment.
– **Graduate Admissions Management:** Oversee graduate admissions and the new student enrollment process. Provide guidance to staff managers on maintaining digital applications, managing application data, optimizing workflows, and directing application review processes and communication throughout the admission lifecycle.
– **Diversity Recruitment Strategies:** Develop and implement strategies to attract and enroll students from diverse backgrounds into SEAS programs.
– **Recruitment Activities:** Coordinate and participate in recruitment efforts for SEAS’s undergraduate and graduate programs, including domestic and international travel. Manage events like accepted student receptions for graduate programs, as well as recruitment events in locations such as India and China.
– **Graduate Program Development:** Support graduate education by strategizing and developing new niche graduate programs to increase enrollment in both the short and long term. Assist departments in creating new graduate programs based on industry trends and updating existing curricula. Collaborate with external companies to enhance exposure to programs and expand the prospect database.
– **Data Reporting:** Generate data reports for Department Chairs and other key personnel, tracking student recruitment through application and enrollment stages.
– **Onboarding and Orientation:** Facilitate the onboarding and orientation of accepted graduate students through strategic planning. Work with various campus entities to organize events ensuring a smooth transition to UB, including coordination with International Student Services, International Admissions, Student Accounts, The Graduate School, and Graduate Enrollment Services.
