Salary: The salary for the role of Applicant Compliance Officer is £30,487, which will increase to £32,982.

Role: The position of Applicant Compliance Officer is a full-time, permanent role at Oxford Brookes University.

Overall Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Applicant Compliance Officer is to ensure the issuance of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to international applicants and agents in a customer-focused and efficient manner. The role is crucial in maintaining compliance with the regulations set by the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and involves collaboration with the Admissions Office, Global Recruitment & Partnerships teams, and the International Student Advice and Compliance Teams.

Key Responsibilities: Within the Applicant Compliance team, the Officer will support the Senior Applicant Compliance Officer in maintaining the university’s compliance with UKVI Student Route regulations by creating and issuing CASs for international applicants. This includes making informed decisions on immigration status, advising colleagues on changes to UKVI policies and procedures, and managing any potential risks.

Qualifications and Experience: Ideal candidates will have previous experience working in a higher education environment, preferably in Admissions, International Student Advice & Compliance, or Recruitment. They should also possess experience in issuing CAS letters to international students and have proficiency in working with systems, databases, and/or CRM systems. The ability to utilize professional knowledge to make complex decisions is crucial.

Visa Eligibility: This position does not meet the requirements for obtaining a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system. However, applications are welcomed from individuals who are not currently eligible to work in the UK but would be eligible for a visa through an alternative route
