Job Summary
This role involves providing comprehensive advisement and professional services to non-immigrant international students, scholars, and professionals. The advisor ensures compliance with federal immigration laws while supporting the academic and personal success of international applicants in the Auburn community.
Essential Functions
- Offer guidance on immigration status, including visa issues and employment opportunities tailored to various disciplines.
- Assist international students with social integration, including obtaining social security numbers, driver’s licenses, and navigating Medicaid services.
- Serve as the initial contact for academic, health, and personal matters.
- Collaborate with campus offices and international sponsors to ensure student success and compliance with guidelines.
- Plan and execute orientation, employment workshops, and cultural events for international students.
- Act as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), in accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations.
- Provide enrollment reports and assist in performance evaluations for team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- Level I: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with 1 year of relevant experience.
- Level II: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Level III: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Note: Must be a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree and extensive experience as DSO/ARO.
- Proficiency in SUNAPSIS.
- Strong multitasking, project management, and independent work skills.
Salary Range
$39,420 – $75,040
