UWE, Bristol
We are looking for an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant (Global Development) to join our Global Student Support Team. Your main responsibility will be to provide information, advice, and support to our international students. You will assist in planning, organizing, and delivering international student events while prioritizing a “customer first” approach.
Working in a small team, you will ensure an excellent customer experience for international students by staffing our Global Lounge. This will involve managing multiple mailboxes and promptly responding to a wide range of inquiries. You will also contribute to improving the team’s communication with students by developing FAQs, creating webpage content, and managing digital channels.
As part of your role, you will collaborate with various stakeholder groups, including our immigration advice team, international recruitment and admissions teams, sponsor and agent networks, colleagues internally and abroad, and other university services.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about enhancing the student experience and can work effectively with diverse stakeholders and cultures. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential, along with experience in broad-based administrative tasks within a large, complex organization.
About you: You should possess excellent customer service skills and enjoy assisting individuals from different cultures. Your attitude should be enthusiastic, friendly, and approachable, with the ability to empathize with others. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are crucial, as is the ability to work well in a team. Initiative and the ability to manage your workload and switch priorities during busier periods are also important. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Location: This role is based at our vibrant Frenchay campus, which offers state-of-the-art facilities and resources to support our staff and students. We are continually developing new facilities to further enhance our offerings. The campus is well-connected with excellent transport links, including two train stations within walking distance, a bus terminus connecting to the local bus and metrobus network, and cycling and changing facilities.
